Having discovered her passion for journalism and writing at an early age, Kate Rankel is excited to bring her perceptiveness and compassion to the Raider Review during her senior year at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. She believes one of the most important purposes of journalism is to encourage reflection, helping readers stay informed while also inspiring them to think deeper about themselves, their actions, and the world around them. 

Kate values communication and understanding, and she hopes her writing will not only keep students aware of current events but also encourage hope for the future. With interests in reading, writing, and music, she is eager to expand her skills, explore topics that reach beyond the school into the larger community, and ultimately make a difference in society, whether through government, activism, or cultural awareness. Looking ahead, Kate is considering studying political science or sociology, and she is especially interested in learning more about human behavior and the various ways that humans connect with one another.
