Class of 2026 Senior Desmond Omogoke is a Science and Tech Student at Eleanor Roosevelt, and is currently a Staff Writer for the ERHS Raider Review. Once having a passion for creative writing, Desmond joined Journalism in hopes of reigniting the spark for writing he once had. As a member of the Journalism Club, Desmond is determined to support an outlet for students to find entertaining stories and also give a platform for students to reflect and speak on news they deem to be noteworthy. Furthermore, Desmond wishes to teach others the value and importance that journalism has on the world. To achieve this, Desmond believes his ability to speak out to others, be understanding, and create a welcoming interaction between students will aid him in being a journalist and finding that perfect story. 

Besides Journalism, Desmond enjoys staying active, whether it be playing sports like basketball, working out at the gym or at home, or simply walking in the neighborhood with friends and family. At home, Desmond enjoys playing a mix of video games ranging from mindless action-adventure to narratively-focused and story-driven games. When he isn’t playing video games or playing sports, he can be sitting back, reading a good manga or manwha on Webtoons. Desmond plans to use journalism as a means to further his interests and discover his future goals/career options, as well as find a certain type of story that will speak just to him.
