Dayami Lucero Herrera
Being deeply inspired by historical figures who spoke the truth and fought for what was right, Dayami Lucerherrera Junior joined The Raider Review as a staff member in September 2025. She joined journalism because she sees this as an opportunity to not only write but also more of taking action to speak out and encourage others to recognize issues around us not only at school but in the world, issues like wars and military conflicts, Terrorism, unemployment, climate change, Global health concerns, world hunger, immigration and so much.
Dayami plans to write a lot about world events and important issues, she also plans to write a lot about fun activities that are going around, or interview some teachers or ask questions around the school to entertain her peers. She hopes her work will get people talking and more interested in reading the news. Her goals are to get as many people to donate and to also read the Raiders’ news website to keep people aware of their surroundings.
Outside of writing she really enjoys collecting CDs, watching old movies with family and friends, she also enjoys, listening to music, discussing politics, cleaning and so much more. In the future Dayami’s career goal is to become a social worker and an activist because she’s really passionate about helping others and also about using her words and actions to do so while she pushes for change in the world in which journalism allows her to share her voice.
