Catherine Venancio, a ERHS student in the 12th grade, joined Journalism to expand her knowledge to learn , speak, and write as she wanted to. Picking up a new hobby over the times of crisis has been quite a life changing experience, something she never expected out of herself. She grew a very new hobby of either writing or even picking up books of every genre. She is very open-minded to any conversation topic brought up in class. In journalism, Catherine is to write in her journal everyday where she states her opinion to express herself with no care in the world and just write. More importantly, be free in her writing. She wants to create and let the reader be comfortable in what she writes and entertain the audience, just as much as she feels comfortable to let the reader feel the same as well. Her other interests other than journalism and writing are fashion and art and current issues. She is very open minded when it comes to topics and being informed. She plans to continue researching and learning at NYU in the near future. Daily news has inspired her to continue either informing others or herself to a new variety of topics.
