Johana Gonzalez-Cruz, Co-Editor-In-Chief
Johana Gonzalez-Cruz is a senior and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Raider Review. She joined the Raider Review in 2023, looking for an outlet to reach her school community through her long-time interest for writing. Johana enjoys covering a variety of topics, and is still discovering her niche, embracing the opportunity to explore new styles and ideas. Her goal is to continue to write more stories that can inform, inspire, and entertain her community while taking on new projects that reflect her curiosity and creativity. Drawing from her latin heritage, she is especially motivated by the work of influential Latinx journalists who pave the way for diverse voices in the media, and hopes to one day follow in their footsteps – or make an impact of her own.
Outside of school, Johana is an avid baker and enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, volunteering at her church, spending time with loved ones, and discovering new experiences – most recently through hiking. Her favorite motto is “If not now, when?”
After high school, Johana plans to go to college and major in Journalism, hoping to apply her experiences as a young journalist in her future endeavors. She aspires to one day turn her passion for writing into a full time career.
