The Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders boys’ varsity basketball team defeated  the Laurel Spartans 76-52 at home on Thursday, January 29,2015.

The Raiders started off slow however during the middle of the first quarter they took the lead and went on to keep it for the rest of the game. Laurel may not be the best team they have played all season but ER still went out onto the court and added another big win on to their record.

#4 Guard Ishmail Jabbie had a very impressive game, scoring 20 points. Another key player in yesterdays game, #21 Eric Kinard, said the team “started off flat.” Adding on, he said “they need a better start off.” Coach Brendan O’Connell was upset about the 12 offensive rebounds that the Raiders lost. He said “we cannot take the game for granted, and (the players) need to come into the game energetic.” They still won the game, came out and took care of business. The Raiders have a big game on Friday January 30, 2015 against the Suitland Rams at home. Everyone be sure to come out and support!
