Life can be fun, but when boredom hits, video games are a great way to cure your boredom. One game worth checking out is High On Life 2, released on February 13, 2026, by Squanch Games. It’s a comedic first-person shooter with puzzle elements, rated M (17+) due to adult humor and language.
The game continues the story from the first High On Life. In the original, the player meets a talking alien gun named Kenny, who warns about the G3 cartel—an alien group turning humans into drugs. After defending their neighborhood from said aliens, the player becomes a bounty hunter under the guidance of a mentor named Jean a former bounty hunter, taking down members of the G3 and gaining fame and more weapons.
In High On Life 2, Kenny is absent due to the voice actor being in legal trouble, and players instead start with other talking gatliens like Gus, Knifey, and Sweezy. Gatliens are alien guns and every one has a different ability. The game opens with a montage showing your rise to fame as the “G3 killer.” The story begins with a mission to rescue your sister, during the mission bounty hunters are trying to get her so you are forced to kill the bounty hunters giving you a bounty. This leads to intense fights and an early boss battle. You later learn your sister is part of a resistance group fighting “Big Pharma,” an organization turning humans into drugs. From there, you work together to take down its members.
Overall, the game earns a 7/10 from sites like Steam and IGN. It’s fun, engaging, and full of humor, with a good mix of shooting and puzzles. However, there are noticeable bugs, like getting stuck in levels or needing to restart checkpoints, which set you back a bit. Some puzzles can also feel unclear, and combat can be frustrating when weapons seem underpowered or hard to manage. Despite these issues, the strong story and entertaining gameplay make it a solid experience.
