In honor of Valentine’s Day landing on a Saturday this weekend would you like to hear about the history about how this national holiday originated and hear about the love circulating ERHS Students during this time of year. Red and Pink balloons everywhere with Teddy bears and heart shaped chocolate bars spreading love all around the school.

Valeria Barroso, A&E Editor
Since the age of 13, Valeria Barroso has developed a new found love for reading and writing. English class quickly became her favorite subject because of her love for books and telling stories, which led her to take Journalism 1. Here, she serves as a staff writer for the Raider Review where she covers stories about the social life and environment at ERHS. Using Journalism will help Valeria inform, entertain and encourage students who will read the newspaper, and she will also get the opportunity to improve her skills as a writer with editing and publishing. Apart from writing, Valeria has numerous hobbies such as listening to pop music, reading a ton of books, and dancing for which she has made a name for herself at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. She is a part of the Korean Club official dance team called LIMITLESS, where Valeria and her team go around to different parts of the DMV area performing at numerous events and competitions. Her dreams of making herself known have led to her pursuing her dream of becoming a writer for a popular newspaper and publishing a book, hopefully, leading her to become a successful writer in New York City.
Kaylee Torres Jimenez
Kaylee Torres Jimenez
Kaylee Torres is currently a senior and a staff writer at Eleanor Roosevelt high school in the fall of 2025. She decided to join Journalism to enhance her writing and communication skills and also to inform students on important topics and information that can be helpful. During her time in Journalism, Kaylee is interested in researching and writing about teen struggles in high schools, dangers of schools in today’s time, entrepreneurship, and experiences, believing that through writing she can allow people to relate and understand one another. Besides Kaylee being a staff writer at The Raider Review, she enjoys listening to music, doing nails as her job, and going on walks with her dogs. 
Ana Posada
Ana Posada
Ana Posada is a Sophomore at Eleanor Roosevelt who became a staff writer in 2025. She wanted to join journalism to expand on their creativity. As she is a person who has always been captivated by pop culture, media, and justice, Ana feels as though she can also catch someone’s eye with what she can put into words. Being able to write about different topics adds to the goal she set herself. Her goal is to remove all boundaries in her mind and let her creativity flourish. Being enamored with media from the age of 9, Ana began her journey of expressing herself on the internet. She began with writing– Ana would write creative writing shorts as a kid. She wanted to have a voice and make people think about what she would say. Soon enough, she began her love for media arts at the age of 10. Media arts changed everything, and it allowed Ana to express herself creatively through videos.
