If you listen to music then you probably know J-Cole, but did you know that J-Cole may retire earlier than you’d have thought? J-Cole has turned 40 this year, and for his age, it’s surprising to see someone like him to still be producing music while also being able to post music that catches this generation’s interest.
J-Cole has been hinting towards retirement more than ever this year, according to his manager, who has admitted that his 2025 Dreamville Fest may be his last. J-Cole has announced that he is doing something similar to Dreamville but just under a different name. And in his latest blog, was being connected to his last album ‘The Fall Off’. He’s never too direct about it but he’s always leaning over it. When an anonymous asked about whether his album ‘The Fall Off’ will be his last and if he’ll still post singles after retirement, J-Cole has stated on his blog, “The Inevitable”, “when it’s time for something, you will know”. Even though he made that claim 10 months ago, it still brings concerns to many of his fans as to what he meant by saying that.
With J-Cole slowly stepping away from the music studio, Few people from both Roosevelt high school and outside of school, would like to share their insight about this sad news. When asked about what he’d want J-Cole to spend his time doing before he retires, Senior year Toniel Quintanilla quoted, “I don’t want him to retire just yet, I hope he at least post a few more projects before he releases ‘The Fall Off.’” When asked for any insights they’d like to share on why they feel so strongly about J-Cole. Junior year Elias Cortez stated that he used to listen to him as a kid, that’s why he feels so strongly about J-Cole’s retirement. A friend from Flowers, Jordan Hernandez states he feels that he’s one of the only artists he can resonate with.
With J-cole being 40 this year, people are starting to question just how much time he has left. With his recent hints towards retirement, no one can do anything but wait for an answer, J-Cole started to post blogs to get closer with his fans, and started doing activities he’s always wanted to do as a kid, like going to his childhood home to reminisce about his past, mess around with friends, and just starting small conversations about small situations on his blogs. It’s a matter of time before he announces his final album. We just hope he’ll do cameos, collabs, or even singles.

It’s so sad to think he had Kendrick Lamar and Drake on the fall off but their verses might have gotten taken off due to a beef that J. Cole shouldn’t have been included in.
