The VexRobotics and Mock Trial teams are coached/ mentored by Ms. Bogoski, staff member/robotics mentor, and Mr. Miletich, history teacher and Mock Trial coach. Both clubs participate in their own skill set of competition that they, similarly, excel in.
The Robotics team plays a game called Push-back as their competition.( https://youtu.be/ocmONiVun9M?si=TUkH5FmzCXoeDq7I )The game is played on a 12/12 inch platform that is held in room 104 here in ERHS.
Mock Trial takes place as a set court trial with a defendant, prosecution, jury, judge and more where teams try to win as the defendant or as prosecution.
Both Mock Trial and Robotics clubs have continued to showcase exceptional performance, with overall decent recognition that reflects their steady rise over the years, as well as a strong upcoming future too. Oluwatuminu Kunel-Rabiu, a standout in Mock Trial, was named the best “lawyer” in the entire league. Similarly, the Robotics team has demonstrated consistent growth, with recent seasons being their best yet. “We have been progressing and doing better over the course of the last few years and can keep improving and moving forward as well,” a team member of Robotics noted.
The robotics team’s former leader, Coach Hille, played a key role in establishing the foundation that guided the team to move forward strongly and confidently. She set rules and decisions to have the expectations of an organized and motivated team, which was highly successful after her departure.
Overall, both clubs have decent publicity, giving the students and community a good sense of the activities and achievements within, and the visibility and growth is always invited to improve to as well strengthen their presence.
