Washington Capitals Win Game 4 at Home

The Washington Capitals are only one game away from winning the Stanley Cup Finals. On June 4th the Capitals were victorious at home and took a 3-1 lead over the Vegas Golden Knights.

In NHL history teams that have taken a 3-1 lead go on to win the Cup 31 straight times. The Capitals had previous playoff let downs and disappointment Cup finals hopes. However this year the Capitals are only one game away from a championship and making history.

According to a ESPN article,  the Capitals have this series “taking a 3-lead in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final is pretty much winning the Stanley Cup. Teams that have taken a 3-1 lead in the finals gone on to win the Cup 31 straight times.

Junior Derrick Sanders said “I feel like the Caps will finally complete the win that they have needed. Always coming up short in the playoffs.” The city of Washington DC could possibly have its first Stanley Cup “the championship will give DC respect that we always knew we had but world didn’t know about.”

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals happens tonight, June 7, at 8pm EST, as the Capitals try to close out the 7-game series on the road and bring back a championship. If unsuccessful, the Capitals will still have 2 more game opportunities to close out.
