The ERHS swim team plans for an excellent season this 2017-2018 school year. Sponsored by Dave Basile with the seniors captains including Charlie Dawson, Amanda Hong, Maria Ruiz, Molly Moore, Rich Clay, and Georgia Reitzel, the swim team has been on a winning streak.  Although there have only been two swim meets so far, the team has beat every one of their rivals. Junior Captains include Jeanette Betke, Carissa Forrey, Thomas Bailey, and Surya Pukazhenthi.

Senior Samantha Michael says she’s “excited to start the new season.” When asked about who their biggest rival was, she responded “Bowie, of course.” Freshman Ana Idler is confident in her team and says that  “we should easily win all of our meets.”

Senior Georgia Reitzel says that the team “wants to go undefeated again.” When the team swam against Parkdale on December 16th, the girls won 134-24 and the boys won 98-41. There is a lot of motivation in the girls to win county championships this year, because the boys came in second to Bowie last year. Hopefully, the team will win every one of their meets and take first place.
