On Friday, Nov 3, 2017, Mr. Marcus Moore, a beloved and admired custodian at ERHS, passed away in a tragic car crash in Capitol Heights.

Many students and faculty knew him as “Janitor Drake” because of his resemblance to the musician Drake.

Students and staff members shared fond memories of Mr. Moore. According to senior Alison Moreno, he “always kept a smile on his face and has a great sense of humor.”

Mr. Briscoe, a custodian at ERHS, stated “he was a great guy, made our morning every morning, and he loved his boys and his family”

Mr. Troy Bradbury said that “without Mr. Moore’s help the new AP Capstone room would have never been set up as fast and easy as it was. There was a huge undertaking  – and he did it with a smile and a ‘I got you Mr. B’ – he just made the whole thing work and he will be missed”.

According to the GoFundMe page for Mr. Moore, “he is survived by his wife, Naudia, and their three sons, ranging in age from 5 to 18 years old”. He has been an assistant building manager here at ERHS for five years and was also a custodian at Catherine T. Reed elementary school for ten years before coming to Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
