Ms. Andrea Short, who teaches English 9 and 10, joined the ERHS staff this year, and said she already loves it. Ms. Short said she loves ERHS for its “strong focus on writing.” She interned here in 2009 with fellow English teacher Ms. Beers.

She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in English and her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction.

Students said that they enjoy being in her class.

Sophomore Cyza Tejano said that “she’s an amazing teacher,” and sophomore Joshua McConnie said that she is “very nice and fun to be with” in class.

Ms. Short is a flexible teacher who prefers to try to really get to know her students. On her downtime she volunteers at her church, likes to write, read, and after growing up five minutes away from Ocean City, MD, likes to go to the beach.

Prior to her job at ERHS, she taught in Montgomery and Charles County. One interesting thing to know is that Ms. Short would like to open her own nail salon one day.
