Junior Melany Mejia Ibanez joined The Raider Review as a photo editor in the fall, of 2024. Melany decided to join Journalism to be able to communicate people about important topics through her writing and photography. She believes writing allows her to express and have a voice on topics she finds interesting. During her time in Journalism, she wants to improve her writing and communication skills, but also share people’s stories and experiences, hoping to publish at least three articles for The Raider Review. Besides her position as a staff writer, she enjoys listening to music, playing piano, and hanging out with friends to play volleyball or just talk about life. After high school, Melany wants to attend UMD or Towson University to major in Business and Journalism.
