On Tuesday, October 1st, the Eleanor Roosevelt Boys varsity soccer team loss 2-1 in an intense game against the Bladensburg Mustangs.
During the first half neither teams scored. Both teams were outstanding on the defensive end, but Roosevelt had the offensive advantage.
After half time Eleanor Roosevelt’s senior Josh Oduyoye scored a tremendous goal, which put the Raiders at a 1-0 lead.
The Mustangs came right back after that with a counter attack moments later and scored, putting the game at 1-1 with both teams were playing furiously.
The Raiders looked fatigued and their defense began to slack, allowing the Mustangs to score yet again, and ending the game.
After the game Coach George Kallas discussed the performance with his team
“We have so much skill, but play with no heart!” Coach Kallas said to the team
Team members said Kallas feels his team should dominate every game they play because he knows the team has so much potential and so much skill.
