Fresh Start for Cheer
October 13, 2016
The Eleanor Roosevelt cheer team looks to have a great season this year, accompanied by a few new changes. With the graduation of five seniors from last year’s team, two of those being captains, and an all new coaching staff, the team feels that success is on the way. With these new changes also come high expectations from the cheerleaders.
Junior Destiny Connel hopes to win “first place in all fifteen competitions,” because there are “new coaches and new cheers.” New head coach Michelle Harrison is a former Eleanor Roosevelt cheerleader, and is being received very well by the team. She is bringing positive improvements to the team.
“The coaching style is different from last year,” said senior Ahylexus Kidd. She also commented that “this year will be more organized and more things will get done.” The Raider cheer team is looking to move forward this upcoming season.
