The ERHS Varsity Girls volleyball team defeated the Oxon Hill Clippers this past Monday night with a final score of 3-0.
A few days before the game, Head Coach Eilleen Lloyd spoke to The Raider about the previous and upcoming games.
“We did a few things okay, but we still have to work on some,” said Coach Lloyd about previous games, “we just have to practice hard, pass well, serve well, and we’ll be able to take care of it.”
And on Monday, the team did just that. The girls beat Oxon Hill in all three games of the match, and maintained a comfortable lead throughout all three games, going up to 25 points in each game.
Varsity center junior Kristen Watson gave a few words before Monday night’s game.
“I feel confident going into tonight’s game against the Clippers!” said Watson enthusiastically.
Throughout the game the Raiders appeared to have great chemistry, while the Clippers looked like they couldn’t keep up with one another.
After the victory, Coach Lloyd said, “It’s a Monday, usually not our best days but I’m pleased with the team’s performance. We were capable of more, I always want more even if we played amazingly I can never settle, I always want more.”
The team will face the Bowie Bulldogs next Thursday at 7 p.m. in the ERHS gym.
