Eleanor Roosevelt HS welcomes Ms. Jenny Pacheco, who works as a secretary in the Science and Tech Office. Formerly a paralegal at a law firm, Ms. Pacheco chose to come to ERHS, and hopes to eventually obtain a position as an official translator for the school. Originally from El Salvador, she said that she’s been translating Spanish for a while now, and hopes that one day there will be a formal position for it.

“I’ve never worked in a school system so this is something different for me,” said Ms. Pacheco. “It’s less hours, only ten months — it’s better. I’m very glad to be part of the ERHS team.”

Ms. Pacheco attended Montgomery College for a year and a half before dropping out to start working. Explaining her interest in interpreting for the school and why she selected her job as a secretary, she said, “I love to help people. It comes very naturally to me, it makes me happy.”

Outside of work, she said that she “love[s] dancing” and “spending time with [her] two children.”
