ERHS’s boys’ soccer team closed out the regular season on Thursday with a 3-0 loss against Bowie, to enter the playoffs with a 7-4-1 record.
The Raiders brought home key wins this season against opponents Wise and Parkdale, with whom the Raiders were essentially evenly matched. But losses against the dominant teams within the county, such as High Point and Northwestern, have hurt the Raiders this season, evidenced by their four losses entering the playoffs.
While the Raiders’ four losses will most likely prevent them from attaining a seeded position within the playoffs, the Raiders still have a chance to make an impact when the playoffs begin on Friday October 26th.
“As far as the playoffs are concerned,” commented junior defender Jacob Miller, “we need to improve the unity and efficiency with which we transition from attacking to defending and vice versa.”
The Raiders find out on Monday who they will face in the first game of the playoffs.
