Get Excited “How to Get Away with Murder” Fans
September 23, 2015
The highly anticipated ABC network show “How to Get Away with Murder” is returning with some answers for eager fans tomorrow, September 24th.
Season 1 left off when Annaliese Keating (Viola Davis) and her group of five students were trying to solve the mystery of who killed Lila Stangard (Megan West). The group had their doubts on Rebecca Sutter (Katie Findlay) until later evidence was found. Rebecca refused to answer questions and open up until she met Wes (Alfred Enoch). The group had her tied up in the basement and were planning on letting her go. However, when Annaliese and Frank(Charlie Weber) check on her in the basement, she was not found. The students believed Rebecca had run away but Annalise and Frank had her hidden behind the stairs. Fortunately viewers will not have to wait long to find out who killed Rebecca; ABC has announced that the killer will be revealed in the premiere episode, “It’s Time to Move On”.
In the new ABC trailer, Annaliese Keating says to someone off screen “Now that you’ve done this, you’re a monster!” But the million dollar question is: who is she talking to?
Rebecca’s murder won’t be the only thing season 2 revolves around, however. Two new characters will be joining the show as well. Famke Janssen will be starring in the show as a defense attorney and Vampire Diaries star, Kendrick Sampson will also be a new character in the show, thought his role has not yet been announced.
The unexplored plot lines of season 2 are not concrete, but it does seem that it will have a focus on the characters’ relationships, considering how season 1 ended with many secrets and unsolved mysteries. A focal point may be Bonnie’s tense relationship with Annaliese, or even Annaliese and Frank’s relationship, since the two certainly have hold of some information.
Aside from Annaliese, Connor (Jack Falahee) has major issues to deal with, including finding out his lover, Oliver(Conrad Ricamora) is HIV positive. Knowing Connor’s character, it is hard to tell if he would be willing to stay with Oliver and help and support him or leave him behind.
While Viola Davis is dealing with murderers on TV, she has happier things to celebrate. Davis became the first African-American woman to win an Emmy award for best actress in a Drama series. Davis’ acceptance speech became a powerful reverence for women of color. “You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there,” Davis said.
