About the Contributors
Me’lana Bell, Staff Writer
Me’lana Aynalem Bell has always dreamt of the wildest characters and interesting plots to write about at a very young age. She participated in the Write-A-Book program when she was younger and published three books on the county level. This sparked her interest in publishing articles. Me’lana is a sophomore and this is her first year as a writer in Journalism. She loves to express her thoughts and opinions on topics she’s passionate about and inform people about all of the exciting things occurring at Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
She’s always loved writing stories in her free time, and her goal is to learn different techniques used in journalism. Besides writing, Me’lana enjoys expressing herself through dance, (ballet), competitive swimming, and reading Science-Fiction. She plans on using the skills she’s learned in journalism to help her in her career in medicine, improving her writing skills on publishing articles about the heart, and cardiovascular diseases.
Chesa Filomeno, Staff Writer
As a Raider Review staff writer, Chesa Urielle O. Filomeno hopes to write enjoyable and/or urgent news stories to entertain the readers and express her thoughts and opinions through words. Even though this is her last year here in Roosevelt, she joins the Raider Review and Journalism class to improve her writing skills and to share what she wants to say.
Besides being a senior here in Roosevelt, Chesa also likes to listen to music, binge-read books (especially romance), watch YouTube videos, cook food, drink her matcha or bubble tea, and take care of her dog, Kimmie. She is known for her enthusiastic energy,
Chesa plans to major in Computer Science with a minor in Political Science, yet still unsure as she loves the Humanities field despite being an S/T student. But, as Kim Namjoon, known as RM of BTS, mentions, “We all have different dreams and goals. That's what makes us individuals, and that's what makes us special.”
