In a press release yesterday, PGCPS announced that a partial waiver of two school days has been approved by the MD State Superintendent, and that the last day of school has been scheduled as a half day on June 13.
The original waiver requested the removal of four days from the calendar to account for the eight days of inclement weather PGCPS has closed for; however, the full waiver was declined and the state mandated that PGCPS had to complete 180 instructional days. To meet this requirement, the county modified the request to remove only two days.
June 13 is scheduled as a half day, making June 12 the last full day of instruction. According to the announcement, spring break will remain the same as scheduled, and the last teacher day will be determined and announced at a later date.
