On December 13, 2013, 17-time Grammy winner Beyoncé Knowles-Carter surprised the American public by releasing an album that no one knew she was working on.
The new album is titled simply Beyonce, but don’t let this plain title fool you, because this album is FAR from plain.
Becoming number 1 in over 100 countries in less than a week — not to mention the number 1 top purchased album on ITunes for weeks and ‘Drunk In Love’ to be number 18 on most purchased songs on ITunes — this album might just win her another Grammy.
With 14 songs and 18 videos ranging in genre from hip hop, to R&B, to pop, this album can please anyone. It even has a song called “Blue” featuring her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. This is Blue’s second feature after being featured on Jay-Z’s “Glory”.
Other artists on the album include Drake on “Mine” , Frank Ocean on “Superpower”, and Jay-Z on “Drunk In Love”.
The speed and skill with which she produced this album while juggling a tour and 2-year old is certainly impressive, and must have kept Queen Bey busy.
