Review: If I Stay

The movie ‘If I Stay’ is where tragedy meets love story. Not only will it leave you on the edge of your seat, but by the end, you will be grabbing tissues left and right.

‘If I Stay’ made me realize how short life is, and that you never know what can happen. That is why the audience cared so greatly about the main character; because the movie put the audience in her shoes.

Mia Hall, played by Chloë Grace Mortez, portrayed the Mia that readers knew from the book. She played the character as strong, determined and innocent.

The love story between Mia and Adam, played by Jamie Blackley, focused a little more on the bad times than the good, which does not stay true to the book. It made the mood of the story more tense than it should’ve been. However, that is my only complaint.

Overall, I give the movie an 8/10.
