School Closed Friday for Wind Storm

On Friday, March 2nd, schools in Prince George’s County were closed on a code red due to high winds. According to the Prince George’s County website, code red means that both students and “all personnel” do not have to report to school. As a result, we might have to make-up this day on April 6th, which is supposed to be the last day of Spring Break.  According to CBS Baltimore, Governor Larry Hogan declared Maryland in a state of emergency on Saturday, March 3rd. He explained, “I want to caution all Marylanders that these dangerously strong winds will continue this evening and into tomorrow.” The winds varied from 40 to 80 mph throughout Friday and Saturday.
